Ében 2022

Ében 2022 is a deep, full-bodied and distinctive red wine that showcases the rich fruitiness, lively structure of premium grapes and complexity derived from extended oak aging. The wine is made from 100% estate-grown grapes from the Hegyalja vineyard, where the ripe grapes imparted an intense character and excellent concentration to the wine. A truly unique vintage, it is the flagship wine of our winery.

The winemaking process was carried out using traditional, artisanal methods. Fermentation took place in vats with manual punching down, which allowed for the gentle extraction of color, tannins, and aromas. Following skin contact fermentation, the wine was carefully pressed and transferred to oak barrels, where it aged for 27 months. Only 600 bottles were produced.

During the long barrel aging, the wine developed a deep, complex, and distinctly mature character, while retaining its lively acidity and fruity core. Dark berries, black plums, ripe forest fruits, and spicy notes on  the nose, complemented by subtle smoky, earthy, and oaky tones.

A concentrated yet lively red wine characterized by a deep color, vibrant acidity, and a long, layered finish on the palate. Fruitiness and spiciness blend harmoniously, while the mature character derived from aging defines the wine’s style throughout.

What makes Ében 2022 special is that we bottled this red wine unclarified and unfiltered, so the wine’s natural texture, depth, and original character have been preserved as clearly as possible. It already shows an exciting profile, but it also has significant aging potential.

An excellent choice for game, steak, slow-cooked meat dishes, and aged cheeses; it’s also perfect as a gift or for occasions when you want to pour a serious, long-aged red wine with a distinctive character.
