Syrah 2023

Syrah 2023 is a full-bodied red wine with deep character and a rich structure, showcasing the variety’s spicy elegance and the complexity resulting from extended oak aging. The wine is made from 100% estate-grown Syrah grapes harvested from the Hegyalja vineyard, where the terroir and the ripe grapes provided an excellent foundation for creating a rich, concentrated red wine. We have a special connection to this variety, as Petrányi Winery was the first to plant it in Csopak in 2009.

The grapes were processed using a traditional, artisanal approach. Fermentation took place in vats with manual punching down, which allowed for the gentle, gradual release of color, tannins, and aromas. Following skin contact fermentation, the wine was carefully pressed and transferred to wooden barrels, where it aged for 24 months.

The long barrel aging gave the wine depth, complexity, and a refined structure, while beautifully integrating the natural character of the Syrah. The nose reveals notes of dark berries, blackberries, ripe cherries, and dried fruit, complemented by intense spiciness, peppery tones, and delicate toasted oak aromas.

A full-bodied, rich wine with a long finish, in which the concentration of ripe grapes and oak barrel aging blend together elegantly. The tannins are ripe and well-integrated, and the wine’s structure is both powerful and harmonious. Our Syrah 2023 was selected by VinCE, Hungary’s most widely read wine magazine, as one of the TOP 3 Balaton wines in 2026, and it became the magazine’s favorite Balaton red wine for special occasions.

The Syrah 2023 is an excellent choice for steak, game, slow-cooked meat dishes, aged cheeses, or any occasion that calls for a full-bodied, serious red wine.
